Established in 1987, Direct Repair Laboratories is a high quality refurbisher of networking equipment, routers, LAN switches, SAN equipment, high-end power supplies, Winchester disk, optical disk and tape drives subsystems for high-end computing, medical, seismic, telephony, and OLTP equipment OEMs. With an intense focus on customer satisfaction coupled with unparalleled technical engineering expertise, DRL is often viewed as the only alternative to often non-responsive manufacturer's service. DRL offers disk, tape and optical drive sales and refurbishment services for a wide variety of original manufacturer's models.

Refurbishment

Direct Repair Laboratories offers complete disk drive, HDA refurbishment in its industry certified class 50 clean room. Refurbishment may include replacement of all heads  {sliders/flexure assemblies}, media and filters, as well as media certification, three plane spindle balancing, Doppler laser positioned servo pattern generation, nitrogen HDA injection, parametric testing, O.E.M. system diagnostics, O.E.M. specific processes, extended thermal stress testing, extended digital testing and analog defect mapping.

Through implementation of these key disciplines and technology into DRL's refurbishment process, our customers can realize significant improvements in performance in the field resulting in a lower cost of ownership. DRL is researching new ways to improve the quality and MTBF of each product in order to continue to improve cost of ownership for our customers. DRL is also a manufacturer of servo writing and analog defect mapping instruments for the disk drive industry. Through control of our equipment, we realize absolute control of our refurbishment processes. DRL also has a state of the art electronics repair facility where we  perform component level repairs on high speed networking equipment and power devices.
